In this article, I am going to explain you How to Check or Change PHP Version in cPanel Hosting.
Many times our script or project requires specific configuration and software version to run successfully on cPanel. For this we have to update the configuration and version accordingly. But if you are new to cPanel & shared hosting server, it will be hard for you to check or change any configuration provided by your hosting provider.
Let’s start the process to:-
Check or Change the PHP software version in cPanel shared hosting server
- To check or change PHP version on cPanel shared hosting server, First of all you have to log in to your cPanel hosting.
- After successful login to cPanel, your browser will redirect you to cPanel dashboard page.
- Whole dashboard is divided into several sections; each section is group of similar function provided by hosting server.
- In cPanel dashboard, navigate to software section of cPanel.
- In software section, you will see a link having text “Select PHP version”.
- Click on “Select PHP Version link” to process further.
- Clicking on “Select PHP Version” link will redirect you to PHP version selection page.
8. In front of “Current PHP Version” label, you will see your current PHP Version.
9. Below that label, you will have a label with text “PHP Version”, a dropdown having some decimal values (which shows all PHP version available on your cPanel Hosting), and a button with text “Set as Current”.
10. Now to change the PHP version of your cPanel, you have to select the suitable PHP version from dropdown.
11. After selecting PHP version from dropdown, click “Set as Current” to set the selected version to default PHP version of your cPanel.
12. And, you’ve changed your cPanel PHP version successfully.
13. Further, if you want to add or remove any feature from PHP, you can find list of all available features, below the dropdown with checkboxes.
14. If you want to add any feature in PHP, simply check the checkbox in front of that feature.
15. And to remove the feature from PHP, uncheck the checkboxe.
