Install WordPress on CPanel

In this article I am going to explain the best and simplest way to Install wordpress on cpanel.

So you have the domain name & hosting, and now you want to use them to make a stunning website for yourself.

After successful linking of domain to hosting server you can visit your website default page by typing the url of your domain in any browser.

To create your first website, I suggest you to Install wordpress on your hosting panel, WordPress is an open source Content Management System which provide an awesome interface to manage the contents and pages of website from its admin panel without any hassle.

The process of installing wordpress on cpanel is very simple. Follow given steps to

Step 1.  Login in to your hosting cpanel using username and password provided by your hosting provider.

Step 2.  After successful login, you will see interface of cpanel similar to this image.

Cpanel provides interface to manage your files and hosting settings easily.

Step 3. Scroll down to Software section of cpanel, and look for any link saying Softculous Apps Installer.

Step 4. When you click on that link, browser will redirect you to home page of softaculous and you will see a screen similar to this.

Step 5. Since we want to install the wordpress on cpanel, we have to click the icon saying wordpress.

Step 6. Once you click on the wordpress link, it will redirect you to the wordpress installation page similar to given image.

Step 7. Now click Install Now button to initiate the process of wordpress installation.

Step 8. Clicking on Install Now button will show you wordpress configuration page similar to this image.

Step 9. In Software Setup section of configuration page you have to fill the site details.

From protocol dropdown, select the protocol suitable for you, I prefer http://www.

In Domain textbox, enter name of domain on which you want to host the wordpress or want to show your website.

In Directory textbox, enter the name of directory in which you want to install the wordpress, In case you want it to host it on main domain, leave this box blank or remove the text from it, if any.

Step 10. Let’s move to Site Setting section and fill the details of site setting.

In Site Name textbox, enter the name of your wordpress site.

In Site Description textbox, enter description of your website.

Leave the Enable Multisite checkbox unchecked, this is used to create a multisite, I’ll explain it on later tutorials.

Step 11. After completing site settings, we have to fill the admin section details of your site, which will be used for admin login.

In Admin Username textbox enter the username for admin.

In Admin Password textbox enter the password for admin, make sure it is complex enough to prevent your site from unauthorized access.

In Admin Email textbox enter the email id of admin or manage so that if you lost your password you can reset it using given mail.

In Language Section, choose the language for your website.

In Select Plugin section, select the checkbox if you want to limit the unsuccessful login attempt on your site, else leave it unchecked.

If you don’t want to customize the database part just skip the Advance Option tab else you can configure here Database Name, Table Prefix, Auto Upgrade etc. fields.

After filling required fields, just click on install button, it will validate your settings and install the wordpress and redirect you to success screen.

Now, if you visit your website, you will see wordpress with its default theme, showing Your Site Name, Site Description and some random post.

To modify the look & feel of website and to add new content, just log in to your admin area and start the customization.
