In this article I am going to explain the process of Create/Add New Addon Domain on cPanel Shared Hosting Server.
What is Addon Domain?
If you have multi domain hosting then you probably heard of Addon domain, If not then an addon domain is extra domain you host on you shared hosting. By this mechanism you can host multiple domains on single shared hosting server.
Now let’s start the process of:
Create/Add New Addon Domain on cPanel Shared Hosting Server.
Step 1. Login to you cPanel shared hosting account using login details provided by your hosting provider.
Step 2. Navigate to Domains section of cPanel Dashboard.
Step 3. Click on Addon Domain link of Domains Section.
Step 4. Once you clicked on that link, it will redirect you to Addon domain creation page.
Step 5. Addon domain page contains three textboxes having text New Domain Name, Subdomain and Document Root.
Step 6. To add new domain start filling textboxes with following values
In New Domain Name textbox you have to fill the domain name without www, which you want to host on multi domain hosting server i.e. (xpertztech.com).
Once you fill this textbox remaining textboxes will be populated automatically.
Usually we don’t need to change default values of these textboxes but if you want to change any configuration, you can change it manually.
Step 7. Below these textboxes, you will find a checkbox asking for creation of ftp account for newly created Addon domain, If you want separate ftp account then check this checkbox else leave it unchecked.
Step 8. Click on Add Domain button to add new Addon domain on your hosting.
Step 9. Clicking on that button will process your request and complete the process of addon domain.
